Mumbai, Aug 29 : Singer and composer Amaal Mallik has announced that he is stepping away from film music for the time being, asking fans and industry colleagues to respect his decision.
Mallik shared the announcement on August 28, signalling a significant pause in his association with Bollywood’s music circuit. The move has attracted attention because of his established career as a singer and composer and his contribution to several Hindi film soundtracks.
In his message, Mallik indicated that he wanted to move away from the pressures surrounding film music and concentrate on his own path. His decision comes after years of working on playback singing and music composition for the Hindi film industry.
The announcement has prompted discussion among fans, many of whom have followed Mallik’s musical work across romantic songs, commercial soundtracks and independent releases.
Mallik, who comes from a prominent musical family, has built a distinct identity through his compositions and playback performances. His decision to take a break therefore marks a notable change in his professional trajectory.
While he has not indicated a permanent exit from the industry, the singer’s latest statement makes clear that he currently wants some distance from film-related musical assignments.
His announcement also reflects the growing trend among established artists to explore independent creative projects and take greater control over the direction of their careers.
For now, fans will have to wait for further details about Mallik’s next musical venture and whether his break will eventually lead to a return to Bollywood soundtracks.
