Bengaluru, Aug 27: The Karnataka government has constituted a five-member cabinet sub-committee to examine key issues affecting students and recommend measures to strengthen the state’s education system.

The panel will focus on concerns including examination paper leaks, increasing education costs and stress among students. It will also examine challenges related to educational infrastructure and opportunities for employment oriented skill development.

The move comes amid growing concerns over the pressure faced by students and the need to improve the reliability and accessibility of education. The committee is expected to study the existing challenges and suggest reforms aimed at creating a more supportive academic environment.

Examination integrity is among the issues receiving particular attention, with paper leaks having raised concerns over fairness and confidence in competitive and academic examinations.

The committee will also consider the financial burden associated with education and explore measures that could make learning more accessible to students.

Student wellbeing is another major area on the panel’s agenda. Officials are expected to examine factors contributing to academic stress and consider ways to provide better support to students.

Infrastructure and skill development will form part of the broader review, with the government seeking to strengthen links between education and employment opportunities.

The committee’s recommendations are expected to guide future policy measures in the state’s education sector.
