US, Aug 03 : The United States and China have resumed high-level trade discussions in an effort to stabilise bilateral economic relations and address long-standing disagreements over tariffs, market access and technology restrictions.

Senior officials from both countries met for another round of negotiations, signalling a willingness to keep diplomatic channels open despite persistent differences on key trade issues. The talks come at a time when businesses and investors are closely monitoring developments that could influence global economic growth.

The discussions focused on reducing trade barriers, improving market access and exploring measures to strengthen commercial cooperation. While neither side announced any major breakthrough, both delegations described the dialogue as constructive and agreed to continue engagement in the coming weeks.

Analysts believe sustained communication between the world’s two largest economies could help reduce uncertainty for global manufacturers and exporters, particularly as inflationary pressures and geopolitical tensions continue to affect international trade.

Businesses across Asia, Europe and North America are expected to closely watch the outcome of future negotiations, as any agreement between Washington and Beijing could have significant implications for supply chains, commodity prices and investment flows.

Although substantial challenges remain, the continuation of formal dialogue has been viewed as a positive step towards preventing further escalation of trade tensions.
