Mumbai, July 20: Bollywood actor Sonakshi Sinha voiced her support for environmentalist Sonam Wangchuk amid his protest in Delhi and appealed for peaceful participation ahead of a planned march on July 20.

Sinha shared a video expressing concern over Wangchuk’s forced transfer from his protest site at Jantar Mantar to Safdarjung Hospital by Delhi Police. She questioned the manner in which the development was handled and expressed solidarity with those continuing the campaign.

The actor praised Wangchuk and his supporters for maintaining a peaceful approach during the protest. She urged those participating in the upcoming march to remain calm and committed to non-violence.

Her intervention brought a Bollywood voice into a public campaign that had been receiving attention beyond environmental issues. Sinha also emphasised the importance of allowing people to express their concerns and called for constructive dialogue.

The actor’s statement quickly drew attention among her followers, adding another layer to the ongoing discussion surrounding the protest.

Sinha has previously used her social media presence to comment on issues of public interest. Her latest remarks again placed her in the spotlight while highlighting the growing involvement of celebrities in conversations surrounding social and environmental concerns.

As the July 20 march approached, her appeal focused on peaceful expression and respect for differing voices rather than confrontation.
