NAGPUR, Aug 15: RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat on Saturday called on citizens to contribute to building a prosperous, secure and harmonious India that can play a meaningful role on the global stage and emerge as a “Vishwaguru”.

Addressing a gathering at the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh headquarters in Nagpur after unfurling the national flag on Independence Day, Bhagwat said the true strength of freedom lies in ensuring the country’s overall well-being and enabling it to contribute to the welfare of the world.

He urged people to work collectively to strengthen the nation while remaining committed to its fundamental principles. He said India must face emerging challenges with determination and develop the capacity to provide direction to the world.

Bhagwat also noted that differences in individual opinions are natural in a diverse society. However, such differences should not undermine the underlying unity of the country, he said.

The RSS chief stressed that national development requires a balance between diversity and unity, along with a shared commitment towards strengthening India.

He called upon citizens to participate in nation-building and help create conditions in which the country can achieve greater prosperity, security and social harmony.

Bhagwat said India’s journey towards becoming a global guide would require sustained efforts from society and a collective resolve to protect the nation’s values while addressing challenges before it.
