NEW DELHI, Aug 13: Hollywood stars Anthony Mackie, Ariana DeBose and John Leguizamo are set to headline Exoplanet, a new Audible Original science fiction thriller scheduled to launch exclusively on the audio platform on November 5.
The project brings together a high-profile cast with acclaimed science fiction author Andy Weir, best known for The Martian and Project Hail Mary, serving as executive producer. The audio drama has been written by novelist Benjamin Percy.
Exoplanet follows the crew of a starship on a dangerous mission, combining elements of space exploration, suspense and human survival. The audio format is designed to place listeners inside the story through performances and sound rather than traditional on screen visuals.
Mackie, known for his work across major Hollywood productions, will lead the cast alongside DeBose and Leguizamo. Their involvement adds significant star power to a project that is expected to appeal to fans of cinematic science-fiction storytelling.
Weir’s participation is another major attraction for genre enthusiasts. His novels have become widely recognised for combining scientific concepts with accessible storytelling, with The Martian previously adapted into a successful feature film.
The upcoming production marks another expansion of Audible’s original entertainment slate, bringing established film talent into long-form audio storytelling.
With its November release date, Exoplanet is positioned as one of the platform’s major upcoming science-fiction launches and is likely to attract audiences looking for a new space thriller beyond conventional cinema and streaming releases.
