MUMBAI, Aug 25: Deepika Padukone will not be part of Brahmastra 2, her spokesperson has confirmed, putting an end to recent speculation about the actor returning to the fantasy franchise.
The clarification came after reports and online discussions suggested that Padukone could reprise her role in the second installment of the Brahmastra series. Her spokesperson has now stated that the actor is not associated with the upcoming film.
Padukone appeared in the first Brahmastra as Amrita, a character closely connected to the film’s central mythology. Her presence generated considerable interest among viewers, particularly because the first movie left several questions surrounding her character and the larger Astraverse storyline.
The sequel is expected to expand the fictional universe created by director Ayan Mukerji. However, details about the complete cast and storyline have remained closely guarded as production plans continue to develop.
The latest confirmation is likely to settle speculation surrounding Padukone’s participation, although interest in the franchise remains strong among fans awaiting further announcements about the sequel.
Brahmastra 2 is expected to continue the supernatural mythology established by the original film while introducing new developments to its interconnected cinematic universe.
