EUGENE, Aug 8: India’s Ashish Yadav secured a silver medal in the men’s javelin throw at the World Athletics U20 Championships in Eugene, Oregon, on Saturday, adding another major achievement to the country’s emerging athletics success.

Yadav’s performance strengthened India’s presence at the global junior championships, which are being held at Hayward Field from August 5 to 9. The event features leading young athletes from around the world.

The result also adds to India’s growing reputation in the javelin event, a discipline that has gained significant attention following the international success of Neeraj Chopra.

Yadav’s medal came as India’s young athletes continued to make an impact at the championships. The performances in Eugene have highlighted the depth of emerging talent in Indian athletics.

The World U20 Championships are serving as an important platform for the next generation of athletes, with several events scheduled across the final days of competition.

Yadav’s silver further underlines the progress of Indian junior athletes on the international stage and provides another encouraging result ahead of future senior-level competitions.
